I've been invited to a "Tier III meeting". What does that mean?
A Tier III meeting is called when there are concerns about a student, either for academics or behavior. The people that attend Tier III meetings usually include: parents/guardians, classroom teacher, special education teacher,
reading interventionist, principal, psychologist, and social worker. All of these people may not attend the meeting, but they are all invited in order to discuss what the best options for each student may be. During the meeting, everyone will discuss how to improve the learning process for the student.

How can I provide more support at home?
Read, read, READ! One of the best things you can do to help your child is to encourage them to read for fun. Any type of material works- comics, street signs, magazines, or a cereal box can all be read! Finding something your child is interested in helps as well. Libraries are a reader's best friend!
I don't think my child is receiving enough support at school. What should I do?
If you think your child needs more support at school, contact myself or your child's teacher. We will talk with the team and from there we will come up with a solution that helps everyone. Parent/teacher conferences are also a good time to discuss your concerns with the teacher.
